The Graduate School and the Office of the Dean of Students provide numerous opportunities and resources for our military-affiliated (Active Duty, Veterans, Reservists, or National Guard) graduate students to aid in their academic success and to build community. Some of these activities include:
- Orientation for New Military-Affiliated Graduate Students
- Professional and Skills Development Workshops
- Community Building Activities
- Student Advisory Board
- Green Zone
If you walk by an office and see the Green Zone sign, it means the staff, faculty, or graduate student has been Green Zone trained. Green Zone training is conducted by the Office of the Dean of Students to educate faculty, staff of graduate students about the general military experience and can assist our military-affiliated students in their educational experience. Military-affiliated students are welcome to attend these trainings to share their valuable perspectives on being in the military.
- Veterans Resource Team Meetings
The Veterans Resource Team consists of staff and faculty from multiple departments across campus, working to provide veteran-centered services and programming for our growing military-affiliated community. The Veterans Resource Team meets twice per semester, and invites student participation in these discussions. If you would like to attend these meetings, please contact Amber Mathwig.
