Thursday, November 7
“Home for the Holidays” Workshop

Join us for a workshop and discussion led by Erinn Scott and Malini Basdeo, leaders of the CAPS “First in the Family” group.  How, as first-generation undergraduate or graduate students, can we navigate the homestretch of the end of the semester along with going home for the holidays or staying here in the area?

Celebrate Carolina’s First-Generation undergraduates and graduate/professional students with snacks and swag in the Pit!

Documentary Screening of Unlikely

Join us for a free screening of “Unlikely” as part of the 2019 National First-Generation College Celebration.  The film will be shown in the Carolina Union Auditorium and snacks will be served.

Set in the cities of Akron, Atlanta, Boston, and Los Angeles, five individuals failed by America’s higher education system fight for a second chance at opportunity.  For more information on the film, go to the Unlikely home page.  A brief facilitated conversation will be led by leaders from Carolina F1RSTS and Carolina Grad Student F1RSTS.
