This event also commences “Anti-Blackness and Alliance: A Series on Asian-Black Race Relations,” which will run through this academic year. You can find more information about the series on the AAC website.

Co-sponsoring UNC organizations include the Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Black Culture and History, the Center for the Study of the American South, the Office of the Vice Provost for Academic and Community Engagement, and Social Sciences and Global Programs in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Established earlier this year, the Asian American Center is UNC’s newest Provost’s Center and joins the Stone Center, the American Indian Center, and the Carolina Latinx Center, among others, in providing programming and community outreach to U.S. minority ethnic and racial communities. The Asian American Center is the result of a remarkable campaign by students and alumni, joined by faculty, staff, and administrators.
