Virtual IME La Familia LHM: Cooking Lesson

Celebrate Latinx Heritage Month with La Familia
Learn how to make pupusas de frijoles y queso! Pupusas are a traditional Salvadoran dish made by filling corn dough (masa) with savory fillings and cooking them on a hot griddle. You will learn step by step how to make the pupusas via Zoom from the comfort of your own home.
Items you will need to supply: a skillet, vegetable oil, salt, water, and spatula. IME will supply: masa flour, beans, and cheese. The flour, beans, and cheese will be pre-packaged for you and available for pick-up at the Graduate Student Center on Wednesday, September 23 from 11am – 5pm. The cooking lesson will take place the next day on Thursday, September 24 from 5pm – 6:30pm.
Please only register if you are able to pick up the ingredients the day prior to the event! In order to give Yesenia time to purchase the ingredients, the deadline to register is Monday, September 21 at 12pm EST.
Registrants will receive the Zoom link the day of the event.
