World AIDS Day Testing and Awareness Event

Friday, November 30, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Sponsored by UNC-CH LGBTQ Center, Student Wellness, and SHAC (Student Health Action Coalition)

World AIDS Day is an opportunity to show solidarity with the millions of people living with HIV worldwide, to check your status, and to learn about current prevention/treatment options.

We’ll have various stations in the Union to get you started:

The Pit

Look for the Healthy Heels tent to learn about notable people in the HIV/AIDS movement and spin the trivia wheel to gain knowledge and candy!

West Lounge (1st floor of the Union): Welcome Center

Visit our welcome table to find out which of the day’s resources are right for you!

Room 3205: Info/Activity Room

Learn about the HIV prevention and AIDS treatment options available to you, and have a little fun before or after your testing session with a giant match game, cookie decorating, a trivia wheel, and coloring.

Room 3206 A/B: Free HIV Testing from SHAC

SHAC (Student Health Action Coalition)’s HIV program provides HIV and other sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing upon request to anyone over 14 years of age.

SHAC’s mission is to provide free health care and services to underserved populations while engaging UNC Health Science students in interdisciplinary service-learning activities.
