1. What made you choose UNC/NC when deciding on a program/place to study?

UNC is a public university with a strong reputation and high-quality education. The school provides many support services for international students. The professors are awesome and always ready to help. The campus environment is great, and I love the Carolina blue color!

2. What is the most different thing you’ve seen or experienced since being here in comparison to your home country?

The diverse culture is the most different thing from my home country. Interacting with people from different countries, cultures and religious beliefs really opens my eyes, and drives me to re-think life and education issues in my home country.

  1. What is something you wish you had known before moving here?

Communication skills are very important, and good conversation can help you make friends and provide you with lots of opportunities.

  1. Where is a place in your home country that every tourist should visit and why?

I would recommend Xi’an when people visit China. Xi’an is a city with many historical places and traditional Chinese food. The China Railways high-speed service is also worth a try.
