BOS- Navigating UNC as a Man of Color

Jeffrey Simms, Assistant Professor and Director of Professional Development and Alumni Affairs for the Department of Health Policy & Management at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public HealthCome out and have a great dialogue on what it is like to be a graduate man of color at UNC. This dynamic talk with Mr. Simms will help you manage toxic work environments and advisors, how to establish a life/work balance, and general wisdom from Mr. Simms, who navigated it all.

Jeffrey Simms is an Assistant Professor and Director of Professional Development and Alumni Affairs for the Department of Health Policy & Management at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. He has been in this role for 15 years. Mr. Simms received his BA in Public Policy and Master of Science in Public Health from UNC-Chapel Hill. He also earned a Master of Divinity from Duke University. He has been bi-vocational most of his career, serving as pastor for two rural congregations in Wilson County, which is where he was reared.
