In-Person: A Decompression Space for Graduate Students

Wednesday, October 13, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

You have been through a lot in the past year and a half with COVID, racial discrimination, mental health concerns, return to campus and being asked to act as if life is back to normal when nothing around you is what normal should feel like. We are at a near critical point in our overall wellness and that is evident by the suicides our campus has witnessed this semester. While solutions that will repair this very broken situation are being discussed at multiple levels, Student Wellness in partnership with The Graduate School / Diversity & Student Success would like to offer you a space for decompression.

We invite you to stop by for a few minutes or stay for the entire time. In this space we will offer opportunities for you to unpack your emotions and speak, cry, or be angry. We will also offer some decompression techniques to help you deactivate your stress response and have some small measure of respite amidst all the turmoil.

The event will take place at the Graduate Student Center, 211A West Cameron Ave.

Facilitated by Shahnaz Khawaja
